Taptera Raise $2M for Biz App Development

Taptera, a San Francisco-based developer of mobile business applications for the iPhone and iPad, has gained $2 million in a first round of funding.

Terence Garnett, a well-known Silicon Valley investor led the round. Also participating were salesforce.com and several individuals.

Taptera plans to use the funding to expand its portfolio of apps for sales, operations, collaboration and creativity. The company’s first app, called Colleagues, is a mobile employee directory, expected to be unveiled this fall.
