Associations Educating With Webinars

It seems like the words webinar and association go hand-in-hand these days, and the digital out-of-home industry associations certainly fit in the picture.

[1]The Digital Screenmedia Association [2] will hold a webinar on Mobile Opportunities next Wednesday, Oct. 18, featuring Julie Ask, vice-president and principal analyst, Forrester Research [3].

“Mobile devices are driving massive changes in the ways businesses and consumers interact,” says Brian Ardinger, DSA president. “We’re excited to have Forrester share its insight on the emerging trends affecting the digital screenmedia landscape.”

Industry pundits consider the opportunities to engage consumers in the future as incredible if the development and delivery of mobile services are done well. Titled ‘Mobile: Opportunities to Engage Consumers Throughout Their Journey, the free DSA one-hour seminar at 12 noon EDT will help attendees learn:

  • How are consumers are using mobile devices today? How is their use evolving?
  • How leaders in mobile are leveraging unique device features to meet consumer needs;
  • How mobile technologies will evolve to open up new opportunities to deliver contextual experiences.
  • Jared Miller, managing director, self-service and emerging technology for United Airlines [4] and DSA executive vice-president – mobile, will also speak during the webinar about DSA’s Mobile Council and other initiatives in the mobile space.

    You can register for the webinar here [5].

    [6]In the meantime, the webcast held earlier this week on Facial Recognition, co-presented by Digital Signage Expo [7] and Digital Signage Federation [8], set a new attendance record for both organizations, with close to 350 people representing over a dozen industry categories tuned in to learn how to begin planning a successful digital signage installation.

    Both DSE and the Digital Signage Federation have made education outreach to those organizations who are considering digital installations for the first-time an important part of their educational programs in order to help accelerate the growth of the industry.

    The overwhelming attendance at yesterday’s event certainly suggests that there is a huge potential for growth fueled by those making such a first-time investment.
