Promoting its Digital Signage line card and Gabriel Pawchuk, their dedicated DS specialist based in Toronto, Tech Data entertained 50-70 IT attendees in a table-top event format.
Exhibitors included the likely displays suspects (Samsung, NEC, ViewSonic, etc), component and accessory vendors (Ergotron, Cables to Go, etc) as well as HP showcasing its displays and Scala QuickStart solution.
It was interesting to see another component vendor, SIIG Inc, exhibiting AV connectivity solutions at the event. SIIG’s representative pitched attendees on ‘ability to deliver more value’ with their solutions which comprised of various splitting, cabling and AV distribution products on display in the booth.
The event’s audience, predominately IT VARs, seemed qualified, eager for education and no longer in blind search for utopian ‘sign-in-a-box-to-fit-all-comers’ concept – a visible improvement from the earlier IT Channel Digital Signage events attended in Canada.
Are the years of education finally starting to pay off?
