Santa Monica, Califoria-based Outcast Media Holdings and the U.S. Department of Transportation have partnered to reach drivers at the pump as part of the ‘One Text Or Call Could Wreck It All’ campaign.
Outcast, television network at the gas pump, will broadcast the new ‘OMG!’ publc service announcement nationally on more than 12,000 screens, including top-of-the-line gas pumps from their partner, Gilbarco Veeder-Root, worldwide fueling technology company.
“Texting and cell phone use behind the wheel is dangerous for all drivers and can have devastating consequences,” says Ray LaHood, U.S. Secretary of Transportation. In 2009, nearly 5,500 people were killed and a half million more were injured in distracted driving crashes.
The 30-second PSA features teenagers talking and texting while driving and crashing into giant text slang words such as OMG and LOL. The PSA is part of the larger ‘One Text or Call Could Wreck It All’ campaign DOT is launching today in Washington, D.C.

There is no better time to be reminded of this vital message than during those.five minutes our viewers are stopped at the pump.”
The ‘One Text or Call Could Wreck it All’ campaign is believed to be the first time DOT will air a broadcast spot on any fuel network in the gas station space. Outcast will broadcast the spot in gas stations in the top 59 DMAs throughout the country.
