Windows 7 Elfs At Santa Workshops

Gail Chiasson, North American Editor

Beginning 13th December, Southwest Airlines Co., U.S. low-fare carrier, and Microsoft Windows began offering free holiday photos to air travelers passing through 21 airports nationwide – 19 of which are Clear Channel Airports’ – as part of their ‘The Picture Perfect Holiday’ campaign.

The campaign, which Clear Channel Airports is helping bring to life, has both in-airport and online elements developed to provide the quintessential family memory: a photo with Santa.

Travelers can stop by one of Santa’s workshops – a custom built 15’x15′ display area with a holiday-themed backdrop and interactive kiosks – at select Southwest Airlines gates to have their photo taken with Santa. Once a photo is taken, a ‘Windows 7 Elf’ guides the travelers through an online experience to edit, share, and store their photos using free tools from Windows Live and Windows 7.

Families can print a copy of their photo at the airport, or visit www.freeholidayphotos.com to retrieve and share their photos online. There’s even an opportunity to produce reprints of the Santa photos or create customized holiday cards with their own photos within the site.

With its OOH marketing resources and its vast network of airports throughout North America, Clear Channel Airports engages travelers with an immersive brand experience and creates impressions that transcend traditional display boundaries. The partnership with Southwest Airlines and and Windows by Microsoft is representative of the creative possibilities for advertisers and marketers interested in integrating brand messaging into a highly effective and engaging experience.

The campaign runs through Saturday, Dec. 24/11.
