Imagesound wins audio contract with Swarovski

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

Imagesound PLC said it continues to make good progress since its interim results in September 2007 and that it is confident for 2008 and beyond. It also announced today that it has won a nice contract with Swarovski to launch an audio service at 45 of the crystal products retailer’s stores in the UK.

The announcement also said…

Imagesound said it expects EBITDA for the year ending Dec 31 to be in line with its expectations despite the loss of two UK leisure contracts in the fourth quarter and delays to the Marriott and Rezidor hotel contracts.

It added managing director Michael Clark becomes managing director of UK and worldwide sales, while finance director Ken Pratt has been named managing director of operations and finance with immediate effect.

I haven’t seen JJB Sports new concept store yet but Imagesound did some of the work on it (as well as some nice touch screen systems from HandyAV) and there is I believe potential for more video services at other JJB Sports stores.

They also have a new web site, see http://www.imagesound-digital.co.uk/

Another sideways move for Michael Clark?

I think that is a little unfair. Michael Clark works very hard for Imagesound and is well respected in the industry and by his customers in particular. The point to be made I suspect is the role that Derek Mapp, the executive Chairman (and one of the largest shareholders I believe) has – he is by all accounts a very hands on manager and not keen on delegating. Imagesound have lost some very, very good management talent recently and I suspect the Chairman’s role may have been a root cause.
