Nokia’s Flagship Store on Regent Street

Mark Halper in yesterday’s Independent on Sunday Business Section (UK Newspaper) wrote a very good article about Nokia’s forthcoming Flagship Store on Regent Street. It’s also conveniently repeated in their online offering here

These flagship and concept stores are ideal new business deals of course for digital signage and kiosk vendors and for in-store media folks like Mediazest who often project manage and come up with all the ideas for the digital and merchandising parts of the stores.

Motorola did something similar with a couple of stores last year and MediaZest provided a number of projection films and whispering windows for them for stores in, amongst other places, Russia and Mexico!

MediaZest also did a (3M) Vikuiti projection in the old Nokia shop at the bottom of Regent Street last year too.

The great thing about using signage technology in the mobile phone retail arena of course, is that one can demonstrate the functionality, user interface and particularly the media offering of these phones far more effectively than a traditional poster – a perfect example of which is the Vodafone installation on Oxford Street which shows the power of the new Samsung phone across an 85″ projection screen.

It’s a three-floor retail shop on Regent Street opening in early 2008 in the space previously occupied by the Dickins & Jones department store. Did I say it was also across the street from the Apple store?

Nokia already has slick, high-rent shops in Moscow, Hong Kong, New York, Helsinki, Chicago and Mexico City.
