Palo Alto, California-based mSpot, a privately held, Palo Alto-based provider of a music and video delivery service for mobile devices, has been acquired by Samsung Electronics.

mSpot provides cloud entertainment services for major U.S. mobile carriers, as well as its own brand services available in the Android Marketplace or App Store.

Samsung says that the acquisition will provide a cloud-based entertainment service for users of Samsung devices, while extending mSpot’s cloud and streaming solutions to a broader base of customers internationally.
