Exclusive: @GilbarcoInc To Acquire Outcast Media

“What’s going on with DOOH at Fuel Dispensers & Integrated Fueling Solutions provider Gilbarco Veeder Root then?” we wrote back in April, continuing in that specific post by saying “We only ask cos’ we have seen an awful lot of social media activity from them on our LinkedIn group and elsewhere”.

Well, sometimes our ears to the ground plus our social media monitoring is just too good as we can bring you exclusive news that Gilbarco Veeder Root [1] will be announcing the acquisition of Outcast Media within the next couple of days.

Back in February 2011 we wrote [2] “Outcast Media has solidified its leadership position in the fast-growing place-based advertising industry today by announcing a formal merger with its year-and-a-half joint venture partner PumpTop TV, and an expansion into the fitness vertical through a merger with Health Club Media Network”.

It’s all about niches you know and many could have told them that the expansion into fitness would not have worked and so it seems it hasn’t – word on the streets was that HMCN was draining Outcast.

No surprises then that HMCN is not part of the acquisition and will revert back to its former owner with an element of cash as part of the deal.
