Showing how it can meet the universal challenge of broadcasters to present a dynamic and rich-media studio display setting with cutting-edge performance and low cost of ownership, Christie and its partner, Falcon Technologies Pvt. Ltd., are showcasing a live demo of Christie’s award-winning Christie MicroTiles at BES (Broadcast Engineering Society, India) Expo 2013, in New Delhi, January 29 – 31.

christie.broadcast.wavesHighlighting the Falcon Technologies’ booth No. 24 to No. 26 is an array of five units by four units of MicroTiles presenting amazing image quality, vibrant, true-to-life colors and brilliant displays.

Combining proven DLP technology with the long life and reliability of LED technology, Christie MicroTiles can reproduce 115% of the NTSC color gamut, exceeding typical LCD flat panels by more than 50%. Each display unit automatically detects its neighbours, and self-calibrates for color and brightness to optimize the overall presentation.

Christie MicroTiles are designed for maximum image quality in demanding indoor, high-ambient light environments. At just 16” x 12” tall and less than a foot deep, they are ideal for a wide range of applications, including architectural elements, out-of-home advertising, command and control video walls, and event production.

Controlling the content displayed on the Christie MicroTiles is the Christie Spyder X20. A versatile, hardware-based, 20-megapixel bandwidth video processor combined with the flexibility of a universal routing switcher, the Christie Spyder X20’s integrated source monitoring allows for simultaneous, real-time, full-frame-rate monitoring of all inputs for video walls and large display.

“The popularity of Christie MicroTiles and Christie Spyder continues to grow worldwide and here in South Asia, the two products have successfully made their way into TV studios in India and Bangladesh,” says Lin Yu, vice-president, Christie Asia Pacific.

India Today Group used Christie Spyder video processor in its news studio for popular news programme on Headlines Today and AAJ Tak. And the three leading TV stations in Bangladesh – Maasranga TV, Ghazi TV and SA TV – deployed 265 Christie MicroTiles as the main backdrop displays in their studios. The three TV stations are also using Christie Spyder X20 video processor for managing the high resolution contents on the screen with multiple windows.

“The beauty of Christie MicroTiles lies in its flexibility and versatility with almost boundless application possibilities and configurations limited only by the imagination,” says Yu. “They can be displayed in any size and any shape to fit elegantly into any indoor environment, including broadcast studios. Through BES Expo 2013, we hope to reach out to more broadcasters in the region.”
