BroadSign organised a private meeting for its existing and potential customers at the Aria in Las Vegas Tuesday. Onstage for presentations and a very open Q&A session in the morning were Brian Dusho, Daniel Parisien, Byan Mongeau, JodySmith and Skip Beloff.

The meeting celebrated 10 years of the company’s existence and one year since its Chapter 11 process. It now stands fitter and healthier than ever. With a 40% growth in subscriptions in 2012, the company is profitable, has 400 customers and 40,000 subscriptions. One wag commented that “10 years in digital signage should be counted as dog years – it seems more like 100”.

The first novelty was the snazzy new logo, which retains the brand’s traditional values, but with the dot above the “i” replaced by a recognizable ‘forward play’ button, and an exclamation mark based on the Google Maps place indicator.

But the big story of the day was billed as the ‘The Big Reveal’ at which it previewed is ‘Xpress’ android player which should become commercially available in Q3 at a price of USD 99. Key features are 16 GB with an extendible SD card, a hardwired port, 1080 p HDI output, full 1080 video play, hardware accelerated Adobe Flash, and full HTML5.
