Outcast Media Licenses Visible Spectrum’s Cloud Platform

Outcast Media [1], digital media company reaching active, on-the-go consumers, became the most recent network operator to license the web-based platform for custom content creation from Visible Spectrum Inc. [2] of Burr Ridge, illinois.

“We turned to Visible Spectrum to enhance Outcast’s video services for our retail partners,” says Matthew Stoudt, CEO of Outcast. “As we expand our Fuel Network to over 100 million monthly viewers by the end of 2014, it is crucial for us to have a video provider like Visible Spectrum who can scale with Outcast as our Fuel network, as well as Fitness network, grow rapidly.”

The Outcast Fuel Network boasts more than 19,000 screens in high volume premium gas stations across the country. Millions of Nielsen-measured viewers discover Outcast at the pump monthly – and it works. After they watch, they shop, racking up billions a year – all within steps of fueling up. On the day they gas up, overall purchases spike 35%.

The Outcast Fitness Network reaches the largest segment of the high-energy fitness crowd – at the most locations of premium fitness brands, including exclusive partnerships with health clubs such as 24-Hour Fitness.

This is the second piece of news from Outcast lately. Less than a month ago, the company signed a deal with Nielsen’s Interactive Market Systems to create a new simulation model for Outcast, drawing on data from GfK MRI and Nielsen’s On Location metrics.

Founded in 2011, Visible Spectrum, Inc. provides a web-based cloud platform for creating custom, professional quality, HD video for any digital platform: Internet, TV, DOOH or Mobile. VSI users always get to see it before buying – using WYSIWYG technology. (For any uninitiated: ‘What You See Is What You Get’.)

Being entirely web-based, users are provided with complete design tools, upload and compositing functions. VSI’s platform allows seamless search and integration of nearly 40 million stock images, video clips, illustrations and audio tracks from major stock providers as well as user-uploaded content. Stock assets may be dragged and dropped right into VSI compositions – allowing previewing in context of the composition.

VSI’s platform has been used to create over 20,000 videos. Most of these videos were created in +/- 30 minutes directly by end users. Others used VSI’s automation function, which uses databases to fill in custom template fields – creating custom copies for a $15 each – or less at high volumes.

Anyone with an Internet connection and Flash 11.0 can use VSI’s tool at Visible Spectrum’s web site [2] at no charge. It’s ‘just create an account and begin’. You pay nothing unless you want to take delivery of your finished composition – allowing free ‘trial and error’ learning.

Powerful B-2-B features are available to White Label and Enterprise Licensees, including the ability to store client-owned assets securely in VSI’s cloud; unlimited use of the automation function; and the ability to upload and use third party motion graphic projects as VSI templates. White Label Licensees are able to provide VSI’s functionality on their own web site, wrapped in their own branding; and, via API, deliver video files directly into their Content Management Software.
