Leaked Email Shows @DPAads Barry Frey Is Serious

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

A leaked email sent to us seems to demonstrate exactly how serious new DPAA President and CEO Barry Frey is taking his new role.

In the email, sent to Agency Advisors, Brand Advisors and DPAA Members ahead of Thursday’s DPAA Quarterly Members’ Meeting Barry states clearly that his goal is to take the DPAA to the next level…

Dear DPAA Members, Agency Advisors, and Brand Advisors,

Our Quarterly Members’ Meeting is coming up Thursday, June 6th from 08:30 to 13:00 at 535 Madison Ave, 32nd Floor, New York. I understand that you all are running and building important vibrant businesses and I look forward to meeting everyone. Much has happened with the DPAA since the last meeting, including taking the first steps of planning for our 2013 Digital Media Summit and my appointment as the new President and CEO of the DPAA.

I’m excited to be here as it is a seminal time for Digital Place Based Media. Consumers and advertisers are actively and increasingly engaging with video everywhere via multiple screens. As traditional media becomes more compromised, we have a great opportunity to deliver great value to the media ecosystem.

In case you missed it this week and last, we’ve been featured in AdAge, Multichannel News, MediaPost, The Wall Street Journal, NY Times, the DailyDOOH and others. Please feel free to check out the articles!

It is my goal to take the DPAA and everyone associated with it to the next level and I plan on sharing more with you at our Members’ Meeting.

I’ll see you at the meeting!

Best,
Barry Frey

A couple of things to note;

Firstly, it’s great that his appointment got so much coverage in the advertising industry’s traditional media, as well as the Wall Street Journal

Secondly it will be really interesting to see what plans he may have for the 2013 Digital Media Summit – that event gets a lot of people in New York that #dpbmedia week but it really does need to step up a gear.
