The Life Channel Schools Network Launching In Northern Ireland

Ashfield Boys’ High School is one of six Belfast Education and Library Board (BELB) schools piloting The Life Channel Schools network. The launch event will be showcasing The Life Channel Schools network, which gives schools and colleges the unique opportunity to communicate important messages directly to pupils, teachers and parents. The network broadcasts features on health, well-being and fitness, as well as issues such as bullying and sex education.

Content shown in Northern Ireland will follow education initiatives including Every School a Good School and NICCY’s five priorities: Play and Leisure; Well-being and Mental Health; Having Your Say; Protection; Equal Treatment. Individual schools and other partners involved in the project such as the GAA, IFA, PSNI and CSPs can also add content.

The Life Channel Schools network is already proving to be a great addition to other schools who have installed it – since its launch in 2007 by Tony Blair, it has been contracted in over 1000 schools in the UK and is rapidly growing.
