An acquisition target is likely to have some or all of the following characteristics:
• A high level of technical expertise (although this may be limited to one or two individuals)
• A track record of delivering solutions that meet end user expectations
• Access and knowledge of a range of proven technologies
• A passion to remain with the business and see it grow
It is also likely that the target may benefit from:
• Further injection of working capital
• Easier access / partnering with a company with a proven track record with blue chip organisations
• Support of a high quality management team
• A partial or full sale to allow the existing shareholders to de-risk their personal position.
