Van Wagner ’s newest Digital Spectacular corner-board signature display has launched in Penn Center, an area that has become the hot signage area in Manhattan, NYC.
This full-motion video corner-board wall, being powered by OpenSplash went live a week ago and has been running perfectly since. On one of New York’s busiest corners at 33rd and 7th, this outdoor eye candy is located across from ‘The Most Famous Arena in the World’, Madison Square Garden , home of the Knicks, Rangers, Liberty, and over 300 concerts and events each year.
In addition, over 500,000 commuters pass through Penn Station daily, a transportation hub used by over 500 million people a year.
This Spectacular Digital unit offers 10 eight second spots in an 80-second loop. The left half measures 65′ high x 40′ wide; the right half is
65′ high x 42′ wide.
“This is a big win for OpenSource,” says Andreas Soupliotis, president and CEO, Ayuda Media Sytems , the software developer who donated OpenSplash to the industry back in February 2011 . “Open source digital signage is real, and is hitting the heart of one of the world’s most important metropolis.”
Penn Station is served by NJ Transit, LIRR, Amtrak, six Subway lines and is also near Macy’s, which is promoted as the largest department store in the world.
