Dennis Roche Leaves Access Sports To Co-Found New Startup

The incredibly knowledgeable Dennis Roche tells us that he transitioned out of Access Sports Media several weeks ago.

“I was very excited to have restructured the company and in the last month was able to work with Bill Meara, the new CEO, to transition responsibilities,” says Roche.

Roche has co-founded Burbio.com, a startup he had been advising that was originally developed by Roche’s wife Julie, the co-founder. Burbio is a ‘calendar sharing aggregation platform’ which allows parents to come to one place in their community to find and synchronize important school, sports, and community calendars.

Right now, parents have to go to many websites, many of which require you to manually enter in important information and don’t provide updates.

“Burbio.com solves that,” says Roche. “It launched in my hometown of Pelham, NY, last Fall. The site grows quickly and ‘virally’ as group creators invite members to join.”

“We have already raised a large part of what is called an “Angel Round” and will be expanding. It’s a digital and mobile product.”

Roche has been either founding startups, or for the last few years, running companies for investors for most of his career, and says that he’s “excited to get ‘back on the ground’.

“But that said, I will miss the digital out of home industry and will continue to follow it.”
