The AV industry’s nominated charity, Sense, is the leading national charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind. NEC Display Solutions is committed to supporting Sense and is active in raising vital funds to support the work of the charity in improving the lives of people not able to experience the Audio Visual communication we enjoy in our own lives, every day.

Supporting Sense, television presenter and broadcaster Layla Anna-Lee will be talking about the charity and the difference it makes in the lives of deafblind people and their families. It feels particularly appropriate for Layla to visit the Velodrome as she was the voice of The London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony.

Michael Hutchinson is an award-winning writer, journalist and cyclist who has written the Dr. Hutch column for Cycling Weekly since 2006. Michael has represented Great Britain and Northern Ireland at various cycling events including the Commonwealth Games. Michael is also attending Showcase to help raise awareness for Sense and to demonstrate the Ultrabike.

Visitors are encouraged to take the time to talk with Sense Ambassadors who can give a real insight into how the charity has already assisted them and their families, and perhaps experience for themselves what it might be like to be deaflind. A three-wheeler bike, specifically designed for deafblind cyclists, will be at the Showcase and available for trial. Or visitors can have go at blindfolded golf.

The NEC Solutions Showcase takes place at The Velodrome, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford, London on 14-15 May 2014.
