Ode to Deodorant (or When Celebrities Tweet Billboards)

Tim Nolan, Senior Vice President, Marketing Creative and Brand Strategy for Lifetime Networks made extensive mention of this at Connect 2014 – not only, the thrill that he found when ‘celebrities’ tweeted to their millions of followers, a billboard that they were featured on (and in some cases, partial interviews on TV chat shows on same subject) but the way that many ad agencies tried to engineer such online (and TV chat show) endorsements.

Twitter coldplay 470

Now, there is no suggestion that this was in anyway engineered but Outdoor Plus would have been delighted earlier this week when the band Coldplay tweeted a picture (shown above) of the Outdoor Plus digital ad for their new album (it’s on the Euston underpass site) to their 12.3m followers (shown below) .

Said tweet was retweeted nearly 1,000 times and favourited 1,748 times. A good example of outdoor twitter amplification if ever there was one.
