Daktronics was asked to design, manufacture and install a new video display for the La Crosse Loggers baseball team.

“Having a video board has been a goal of ours since we started back in 2003 and, with the help of Daktronics, that goal has become a reality with the start of our 2014 season,” says Chris Goodell, the team’s general manager. “The addition of our new board has completely changed and enhanced the atmosphere within our ballpark and we look forward to sharing the excitement with our fans.“

The new video display is positioned above the existing Daktronics fixed-digit scoreboard. It measures approximately 17’ high by 30’ wide and features a 15HD pixel layout to provide crisp, clear imagery with wide angle visibility.

Fans can enjoy one large image on this new display as it shows live video and instant replays. But, like similar boards that we’ve seen installed by Daktronics this year, the display can also be sectioned into smaller windows to show a variety of statistics and game information that fans crave. Sponsors are also able to send their messages to everyone in the crowd at different periods of the game as the content can be changed and rotated with ease.

The La Crosse Loggers are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams. More than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball. www.lacrosseloggers.com.

The University of Louisiana has partnered with Daktronics for a new LED video display at Cajun Field on campus in Lafayette, La. The upgrade in visual equipment will boost the overall experience for everyone in the stadium on game day.

Scott Farmer, director of athletics says, “With tremendous success on the football field during the past three seasons, the new video board will provide us with opportunities to engage Ragin’ Cajuns fans while creating new inventory and adding value for our loyal sponsors.”

The new video display will feature a 15HD pixel layout and measure 30’ tall by 54’ wide. It will feature exceptional contrast for excellent image clarity and pristine graphics while providing wide angle visibility to appeal to every seat in the stadium. The technology also includes multiple levels of protection from the elements in an outdoor setting.

Again, the display can be configured to show one large image for live video and instant replays, but can also be divided into multiple sections to show a variety of graphics and animations, statistics and scoring information, and advertising and sponsorship messages.

The Ragin’ Cajuns will also be receiving the creation of digital content to be provided by Daktronics Creative Services, an award-winning in-house creative team. The content will be created and delivered at the request of the university.

The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns participate in Division I as part of the Sun Belt Conference. Their home stadium, Cajun Field, is currently adding additional end zone seating that will bring the capacity to approximately 38,000 and the venue has hosted such events as the New Orleans Saints Black and Gold Scrimmage and the New Orleans Bowl.
