Frame Studio Creates Innovative Design Solution For New iStore

Montreal-based Frame Studio was chosen to provide consumers with a trendy and practical digital lifestyle solution for new new iStore in Montreal’s upscale Rockland Centre shopping mall after the client had spotted Frame’s work online.

frame3The work is based on a wide selection of the latest mobile solutions from leading brands.

Because the Rockland location is iStore’s first non-airport retail space, the brand positioning initiative was especially important for the company.

The mandate was to produce visual content to showcase the store’s products, and the challenge was to present the products in a photorealistic way while highlighting iStore’s brand identity.

This first-time collaboration between iStore and Frame Studio showed the creative studio’s ability to produce high-quality results on a tight deadline, in addition to its dedication to developing smart design solutions to enhance the retail experience. The design approach had three creative dimensions: a sleek look, a way finding system and a 15-second animated video – all three elements aimed at strengthening the store’s branding.

A dynamic 15-second animated video, released globally on the web as well as in the store, reflects iStore’s trendy digital lifestyle brand identity.

In addition, seven identity-driven backlit posters placed strategically around the store create a way-finding system for shoppers to navigate the store with ease. The posters help customers locate the store’s five sections, visually identified as protective cases, audio, lifestyle, kids and core accessories. Using a 3D animation technique coupled with Photoshop, the studio produced a sleek, photorealistic porcelain-finish look without having to stage a costly photo shoot.

The entire production from mock-up to final was completed in two months by Frame’s 10-person team.

The official iStore opens Aug. 12/14.
