Outdoor Digital Growth

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

I am often asked for the literary equivalent of ‘sound-bites’ on our industry vertical; who’s doing well, what is the future for digital out of home etc.
MediaZest were the last to use one of my quotes in their interim results on AIM.
Recently I was asked for a sound bite on “Outdoor Digital Growth” and so [...]

Empty Retail Units in your Shopping Mall?

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Motomedia in the UK have an interesting approach to any shopping malls that have empty retail units - use them as giant advertising hoardings.
Their latest window-poster features Shayne Ward (a previous X-Factor TV winner I am told) at the Arndale Centre in Manchester.
A rear projection system shows video and their is sound also - although [...]

Tomorrow (Weds 26th September) TruMedia Technologies will announce version 1.4 of their iCapture software.
This new version includes age-group segmentation and so their offering will now have caught up with that of Quividi.
Whilst Trumedia’s product roadmap (with all the funding that VCs and the Israelis can throw at it) is impressive with a rapid move from [...]

Mobile Television Turns Europe Off

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

“European’s interest in watching mobile television is as small as cellphone screens” so said today’s UK Daily Telegraph, quoting in turn a recent Gartner Group study (that I am still trying to find first-hand).
That’s interesting for Digital Out of Home I think. I do a lot of due diligence for investors in this market and [...]

One large digital screen in a central location in every city in the UK

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Forrest Media (part of the Forrest Group) recently laid claim to a technology first with bluecasting. As it is so patently not a technology first in Digital OOH it doesn’t deserve mention here but what was interesting was Chris Trainer’s buoyish statement below…
“Five years from now, Forrest would have at least one digital screen [...]

Eczame Yayin Sistemi

Monday, September 24th, 2007

As mentioned before, Pharmacy Channels really are the success story of digital signage in EMEA - ‘niche and thee will be succesful!’
I had a chance last week to look first hand at Eczame Yayin Sistemi - Turkey’s very own Pharmacy Channel.
It’s been very well done and very well thought out by the folks at Demedya. [...]
