#dse2011 Brains From Brawn

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

Andrew Neale

One of the best attended conference sessions on the day before the DSE show proper was the Digital Signage Certified Expert Program (DSCE), part of the Digital Signage Experts Group program, which was run by Alan Brawn of Brawn Consulting. The DSCE program has had about 3,000 people through its certification so far, and although […]

Brian Marin Joins PRN

Saturday, February 26th, 2011

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

Perhaps now that PRN’s future is settled we will see good people migrate to the company once again. PRN for example has definitely recently hired Brian Marin – most likely as VP Business Development. Brian was spotted for the first time this last Tuesday night at the #dse2011 VIP reception in the Hilton Sky Villa. […]

VlogRobot

Anyone else in Vegas this week for #dse2011 see this Lamar billboard advertisement for Scala? Lamar of course use Scala for some of their digital billboards. Telecine we believe did the content for billboard. http://www.youtube.com/DailyDOOH

Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey’s Head

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

We were guests twice (so we obviously didn’t upset them too much) at #dse2011 of Four Winds Interactive. An incredibly interesting digital signage software and solutions provider and who with 140 employees are probably one of the largest in our sector. From left to right: Andrew Neale (DailyDOOH), Francois Hechme (Starmount Systems), Adrian Cotterill (DailyDOOH). […]

#dse2011 LocaModa Wiffiti

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

We didn’t see many twitter walls at #dse2011 which was a shame but there was certainly lots of twitter going on. LocaModa did their usual fine job though of having some screens running Wiffiti… Exhibitors need to remember that adding a twitter feed into their displays at an event really helps may the exhibit topical […]

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Gail Chiasson, North American Editor

It’s not often that you’ll see a management team really follow through on what it says it will do, so when we took a look at ConnectiVISION compared to last July and what its new management team has done to fuel the company’s growth, we were pleasantly surprised. Our interest was spurred by the company’s […]

PingHD had a nice stand at DSE together with signagelive… Just goes to show how far signagelive have come in being a global provider.

#dse2011 MicroTile Enclosures

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

We had seen line drawings, sketches and concept descriptions of these self contained column enclosures made up of MicroTiles but had never seen any in real-life before… Note the base. These enclosures contain everything you need to run wayfinding or other content suitable for a column. Here we see some Cirque du Soleil material.

#dse2011 Harris 7-Eleven

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

Harris announced at #dse2011 their 7-Eleven deal with DDN but it was obvious the rumours that we had reported for the past few months were true during pre-build with all the 7-Eleven content front and centre on their stand. Note also their use of MicroTiles at the top of the display in a _7X4_7T_2H5T_4H3T_6HT_ configuration. […]
