Rich Cooley, CEO and founder of Visser Digital Media, Scottsdale, Arizona, has been elected chairman of the Interim Board of Directors of the new Digital Signage Federation, the independent not-for-profit trade association serving the digital signage industry, launched in February during the DSE in Las Vegas.

Also elected as officers of the Interim Board were Bob Stowe, director, marketing services, Wendy’s International, Dublin, Ohio, as vice-chairman, and Alan Brawn, principal, Brawn Consulting LLC, Vista, California, as secretary/treasurer.

The three newly elected officers, along with the current Board, will establish the protocol for an open election for the Federation’s members to elect a permanent Board of Directors from that membership. That member-driven election is expected to take place within the next 90-180 days.

“Our industry is moving decisively to get behind the new Federation,” says Cooley. “It is exciting that in less than a month our membership has already grown to over 200 members. We will shortly post committee descriptions and opportunities for our members to sign up and help shape the future of our industry.”

In addition to those in the U.S. and Canada, the DSF now has members in: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Czechoslovakia, El Salvador, France, Ghana, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Russia, Slovenia, Taiwan, the UK, and Vietnam.
