‘Grim Sleeper’ Killer

The arrest of a suspect in the notorious ‘Grim Sleeper’ serial killer has prompted a new public service advertising billboard campaign by Clear Channel Los Angeles in partnership with LA Council member Bernard Parks.

Billboards are headlined ‘Suspect Arrested’ highlighting the news of the arrest, at the same time paying tribute to the victims of the killer. They recall the earlier run of displays the company mounted in partnership with Parks to enlist the community’s help in efforts to find the killer. An arrest for a suspect in this case was made last week.

Clear Channel Outdoor donated its billboards in South Los Angeles including two digital billboards situated on the 91 Freeway in Compton and one digital billboard located along the 10 freeway in downtown Los Angeles.

Digital billboards have proven to be invaluable community services tools and this latest case highlights the important role that outdoor campaigns can have in a local community to get emergency messaging to the public quickly. With instantaneous alerts, digital billboards are considered one of the most effective means for public service communications and in providing emergency messaging of many types.
