New York-based Screenvision, innovator in cinema advertising, has made two new long-term agreements with Clearview Cinemas and Pacific Theatres, thereby solidifying its presence within the top two DMAs in the country, New York and Los Angeles.

The deal will expand Screenvision’s digital network through the digitalization of the Pacific Theatres’ screens and networking the Clearview Cinemas’ lobby screens.

Headquartered in Florham Park, New Jersey, Clearview Cinemas owns and operates 46 theatres representing 243 screens. All of its theatres are in the New York DMA, with the exception of a number of screens in the important Philadelphia region. Screenvision currently represents Clearview Cinemas for local, regional and national advertising sales, with all locations showing the Screenvision digital on-screen preshow. Under the expanded deal, Screenvision will continue to have the exclusive selling rights to the on-screen preshow – including the 20 minute early preshow and the Premium Pod late preshow – as well as the lobby screen network, and non-exclusive rights to sell in-lobby promotions. Additionally, with Screenvision’s commitment to digitize the Clearview lobby program, it will run across locations via a central network.

Pacific Theatres, based in Los Angeles, owns and operates 10 theatres representing 112 screens. Screenvision currently represents Pacific Theatres for local, regional and national advertising sales. Under the new deal, Screenvision will digitize all of Pacific Theatres’ screens (with the exception of the drive-in theatres). Screenvision will also have non-exclusive 3rd-party rights to sell promotions and will digitize the balance of the circuit no later than August 31 of this year.

“The partnerships with Clearview Cinemas and Pacific Theatres expands our digital footprint in the two largest markets and further illustrates that exhibitors continue to see the value that comes with partnering with Screenvision,” says Darryl Schaffer, executive vice-president, operations and exhibitor relations, Screenvision.

“Screenvision has proven to be an effective partner with in-cinema advertising and our patrons always enjoy the entertaining pre-show,” sas Beth Simpson Crimmins, vice-president of marketing and business development, Clearview Cinemas. “We look forward to extending this relationship.”

“Audiences in Los Angeles are savvy, and they are sophisticated movie goers,” said Nora Dashwood, chief brand officer, at Pacific Theatres. “The quality of Screenvision’s preshow is top notch and we are thrilled to extend this deal further.”

The partnership with Clearview Cinemas and Pacific Theatres is the latest in a string of recent long-term agreements with exhibitor partners and further strengthens the Screenvision network which incorporates long-term agreements with its largest partners including Carmike Cinemas, Marcus Theatres, National Amusements, Rave Motion Pictures, Harkins Theatres, Malco Theatres, Premiere Cinemas and Frank Theatres.
