Barco is showcasing its turnkey digital signage solutions designed to maximize sales and drive brand loyalty in the retail and movie exhibition industries at #dse2016.

Embracing a new paradigm in retail merchandising, Barco is collaborating with digital retail experts at MaxMedia to provide retailers with an integrated solution designed to deliver a connected customer experience to today’s media-savvy shoppers.

This scalable, cloud-based solution leverages MaxMedia’s strategic planning and dynamic content creation capabilities with Barco’s Intelligent Display Network to connect content and people, anywhere, any time. The result is that customers are engaged in a more entertaining, emotionally satisfying shopping experience that entices them to spend more and shop often.

logo X2O Logo“With the help of MaxMedia’s shopper psychology model called CENTER, Barco’s goal is to make positive, emotionally-targeted connections with customers,” says Bas Van Heek, strategic marketing manager retail and advertising for Barco. “With bi-directional digital signage, we can activate customers’ triggers, engaging them in their own personalized story to predispose them to purchase a product or feel a sense of brand loyalty.”

Barco claims that its solution is the only global closed-loop system connecting content, audiences and everything in between, with sensors that provide valuable data allowing retailers to predict and measure content effectiveness to improve retail and advertising messaging and prove positive ROI.

MaxMedia logoBarco is also bringing its interactive digital signage technology to movie theaters, turning lobbies into revenue-generating entertainment centers. The team has developed the Barco Lobby Experience, which enlivens the lobby with animated box office and concession boards, interactive movie posters, and dynamic trailer presentations that drive engagement from the moment customers enter the theater.

“Our Lobby Experience solutions create an entertaining pre-show experience for patrons, while monetizing this valuable real estate in the form of additional ticket sales and concessions promotions,”
says Shawn Medlin, director of sales and business development, digital cinema–lobby experience for Barco.

By leveraging its strong relationships with movie studios and third-party hardware providers, Barco offers a complete solution designed specifically for the cinema: visual displays; digital media players; visual communications software; full integration services for POS and other corporate platforms; studio-created movie assets; and content creation and management services to customize each lobby.

Barco’s Retail, Lobby Experience and Digital Workplace solutions are all powered by the HTML5-based X2O platform, which delivers real-time visual communications to the right audience, at the right time, on the right device to fuel customer engagement. The Barco team works closely with customers to deploy an easy-to-use, scalable solution employing its LED, LCD and Projection solutions to display content. On the back end, audience measurement data captured by the IDN can be used to adapt merchandising practices to the clientele and drive business decisions to improve performance.

Innovative applications built to support today’s digital workplace, powered by the X2O platform, will also be on display. Barco solutions for the ‘new way to work’, include dynamic dashboards, company news channels and more delivered to digital signage displays, video walls, and mobile devices. X2O will highlight the most recent addition to the X2O platform: the X2O.Join Connected Desktop app. X2O.Join lets users view channels on their desktops in addition to seeing them on digital displays and video walls. These channels can be displayed on the desktop for continuous real-time updates, as well as broadcast over the network as targeted pop-up notifications or critical alerts.
