SEMICON EUROPA which was due to open in Munich in 64 days time (Nov 10-13, 2020) has now been cancelled.
Their press release stated “Our business partners at Messe Munich have informed SEMI that they have made the decision, with the approval of their advisory board, to cancel the electronica 2020 physical event and move towards a digital format. While an in-person trade fair could have been conducted safely with their safety and hygiene concept, the recent developments related to increased travel restrictions across Europe led to their decision”.
It’s quite late notice, especially for any one who had planned to exhibit. Interesting that the Messe could see that an event could possibly be put on safely with social distancing etc. but that trade restrictions would have meant that few people would have been able to get there.
