Halifax, N.S.-based TxT2Look Inc. has signed an exclusive license deal for Ontario to offer its SMS real estate and mobile marketing services and products to the 44,000 Ontario Real Estate agents.
TxT2Look’s technology and mobile marketing service, available 24/7, responds automatically to requests for detailed property information from potential buyers. The agent simply adds a sign rider with a property identification code and a short code to their For Sale sign. Cell phone users sends text messages such as ‘prop123’ to the advertised code ‘25665’ and within seconds TxT2Look delivers detailed property information to their cell phone.
The agent controls the information in the download which can include prices, features, direct Web links to photos, as well as agent contact information.
“Being in the largest real estate market in Canada, combined with the industry leading mobile marketing property application, creates an exciting and winning combination for us here in Ontario,” says Lee Helton, sales and marketing director, TxT2Look Ontario.
The year-old TxT2Look officially launched in Nova Scotia on Canada’s east coast in Jan./09 and within two weeks penetrated the western Canadian market. The Calgary Real Estate Board has entered into an exclusive agreement with TxT2Look to provide its real estate text message platform to all of its 5,500 members. TxT2Look was also recently added by The Sutton Group as an approved supplier to its 9,000+ members across Canada. Other markets are growing, and the company is also entering the U.S. market.
“We’re very excited to welcome such quality and experienced professionals with our new Ontario partners,” says John Gallinaugh, president, TxT2Look. “The principals of our partner company have extensive business experience including a strong background in IT and mobile carriers.”
Gallinaugh and Brian Perry, communications manager, are the founding partners of the company, which also has a mobile marketing arm offering mobile campaigns including TxT2Win, mobile coupons and polling/voting. (Among others, that division just concluded a campaign for Toyota in association with ad agency Bristol Group, Halifax.)
“On the real estate side, the company’s revenue is derived from signups by agents and brokers, as well as licencees to handle the business in various regions,” says Perry.
“TxT2Look Real Estate SMS technology will provide significant advantages to those who embrace it,” says Gallinaugh. “Cell phones outsell computers four to one and Canadians now send over 2.3 billion text messages per month averaging 77 million text messages each day. (Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association figures). We want to help Realtors capitalize on the marketing benefits of SMS technology and the phenomenal growth it is experiencing.
“Going forward, our TxT2Look mobile marketing tools can also be applied to many different industry sectors including automobile, retail, entertainment, sport and power a number of applications.”
