Oakland Athletics Choose Daktronics For New LED Video Display System

A total of four new LED displays will be installed, including two premier outfield video displays featuring 13HD technology, the premier outdoor solution with the brightness to cut through direct sunlight while providing crisp, clear imagery.

“These new Daktronics LED video boards will elevate the O.co Coliseum fan experience to a whole new level,” says Ken Pries, Oakland Athletics vice-president of communications and broadcasting. “With Daktronics’ superior customer service and technical expertise, the entire process has been seamless. Our fans are going to be blown away on Opening Night and the final product.”

Featuring the 13HD pixel layout, the two main video displays will each measure 36’ high by 145’ wide and incorporate multiple levels of protection from the outdoor elements. Keeping with today’s standards for game-day productions, these display are capable of highlighting one large image for live video and instant replay. They can also be divided into multiple sections to show desired statistical information, graphics and animations, advertising and sponsorship messaging, and other game information.

The two ribbon displays will each measure approximately 3.5’ high by 415’wide and feature 20 millimeter line spacing. These displays will be located on the seating fascia along the first and third baselines of the stadium and can be used to highlight sponsors and provide additional statistical information throughout each event.

With this installation, Daktronics will also be including its powerful Show Control System, which provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution.
