The 2008 Point of Sale Marketing Exhibition opened today in Hall 7.1 of the Parc des Expositions at the Porte de Versailles in Paris. As mentioned previously, it runs for 3 days until Thursday 3rd April 2008
The organisers, ‘REED Expositions’ are expecting 8.000 visitors which is an awesome number!
The event covers all aspects of point of sale marketing, of which Digital Signage is just one small part – of the available 15.000 m² of exhibition floor space, 10 -15% is given over to Digital Signage.
The opening presentation was funnily enough delivered in English! A first result perhaps of Nicolas Sarkozy’s attempt to bring two great nations closer together?
(err, well, not really) It was just that Stephan Teuber joint MD of GIM in Germany apologised that his French really wasn’t up to delivering a keynote speech (come now!!).
Anyway, he delivered a short, precise summary of the forthcoming Digital Signage Research Study that will be published later in a month or so’s time.
There are allegedly 1,034 online interviews with selected experts (they didn’t ask us), backed up by a further 40 in-depth interviews with experts (they didn’t ask us again) from 3 areas; DIgityal Signage Industry, Users and Potential Users, and Brands.
