Blackpool’s famous Trams run up and down the Promenade and during this year’s Blackpool Illuminations – a 66 day event running September to November 2009 we believe it’s likely that every window in a Tram will be used as a digital screen and the trams themselves wrapped as well.
Forgive the sound on this sampler below but the result of the work will probably look something like this (which we think is quite cool)…
The folks behind it are a (relative) newcomer to the industry, DOOH Media Ltd based in Manchester.
They’ve registered the domain name, got the logo and their web site will be live next week.
Sasha Marks, Business Development Manager at DOOH Media told us exclusively “We are proud to be working on the 2009 Blackpool Illuminations on behalf of the local council’. This is an opportunity for us to demonstrate our deliverance, concepts and technologies as an emerging DOOH company”
Sasha added “We feel that we are joining the DOOH industry at a pivotal point, so, being able to use Blackpool as a springboard, we hope to gain credibility early on and make people aware of who we are. We are hoping that this will create sufficient interest in the run up to our main business launch over the next few weeks, as the newest and freshest DOOH platform in the North West”.
