Pricing for Professional TVs Buck Overall Trend

PMA Research (PMA) have published their latest sell-through tracking reports on large-format (32-inch and larger) flat panel displays being sold by leading North American Pro AV dealers, and systems integrators who typically serve commercial markets.

While unit sales of large flat panel displays through the Pro AV channel fell in December, revenues grew. One contributing factor was the price stabilization for Professional televisions. Prices for this segment rose in December, particularly for the most popular 65-inch, 55-inch and 43-inch models.

While this segment saw double-digit price declines from June 2022 through June 2023, prices were stable and even rose slightly in the second half of 2023, including the month of December.

In December, some of the best-selling Professional TVs came from Samsung, LG, Sony, and Sharp.

Professional TVs are designed for commercial settings such as malls, hotels, and bars. Unlike consumer TVs, professional TV’s of course offer more connectivity and the ability to remotely monitor and control them from a network. They also usually come with longer warranties.
