Following the huge success of the inaugural year of this innovative project, Art Everywhere is to once again flood the UK’s streets with art voted for by the public.

Launched today, Art Everywhere rallies the public to choose their favourites from a long list of over 70 British artworks from the 1500s to present day. They have just three weeks to decide the top 25 to be displayed on tens of thousands of poster sites, bus stops and billboards across the UK.

The final works will be revealed at a press preview on 16 July by Grayson Perry and Antony Gormley.

Art Everywhere 2014 is bigger and better, celebrating the creative talents and legacy of the British art world by showcasing a fantastic new set of British artworks from public collections across the UK – ythis year (2014) sees the exhibition tripled in duration, extended across a six week period as well as a first-of-its-kind nation-wide cinema exhibition film.

Out of Home media owners have once again donated the sites to enable the nation’s favourite British art to grace all corners of the UK, from bus shelters and underground stations, to roadside billboards, motorway services, national rail networks, shopping centres, airports and more, transforming them into a celebratory summer of art. Art Everywhere is a collaborative project from Clear Channel, Exterion Media and JCDecaux, led by Richard Reed (co-founder of Innocent Drinks), the Art Fund, Tate, creative agency 101, Posterscope, Vizeum, Easyart and Facebook.

From today the public can become patrons of the exhibition through crowd-funding with donations funding the production costs of printing the posters. Those who donate GBP 10 or more will have the choice of a range of limited edition rewards from a postcard set to a huge 48 sheet billboard poster.

Reproductions of the most popular works – the top 25, announced on 16 July – will be shown in the exhibition on billboard sites across the country for six weeks from 21 July – 31 August as well as feature in the national exhibition film shown on over 1,000 Vue cinema screens in the UK across the summer until the end of August.

Such was the success and international press coverage last year, Art Everywhere has now become an annual campaign – led by the UK and expanding this year to include the USA’s own #ArtEveryWhereUS.

The project is supported by many leading artists including Howard Hodgkin who said: “Art Everywhere engages the public in an extraordinary way – I am delighted to have work in the longlist this year, and look forward to the public voting for their favourites.”

Richard Reed, co-founder of Innocent Drinks and originator of the idea for Art Everywhere, said: “Art Everywhere is back to showcase great British artworks for a summer of art. We want the British public to crowd-fund and vote for their favourites. This year goes bigger and better including a specially created artwork exclusive from a world-renowned artist. This could not be achieved without our partners Clear Channel, Exterion Media and JCDecaux who have kindly donated the thousands of sites.”

Emma Newman, Marketing Director, Clear Channel UK said “Clear Channel UK is thrilled to be part of Art Everywhere for a second year. Like all the best ideas it’s wonderfully simple and is a brilliantly effective way of bringing inspiring artworks to people right across the country”.
