VeriFone Media Acquires Curb

Gail Chiasson, North American Editor

VeriFone Media, New York, has acquired Curb (originally Taxi Magic), a company that provides e-hail and media-enabled payment services for taxis in 60 U.S. cities such as Chicago and Los Angeles.

VeriFoneMediaLogoCurb’s media-enabled payment terminals are installed in almost 15,000 taxis, bringing Verifone Media’s total number of media-enabled taxi payment screens to more than 35,000 across the US.

With the addition of Curb, Verifone Media now offers Taxi TV in more cities, as well as on more screens in existing Verifone Media coverage areas. In addition to advertising, Curb screens currently carry entertainment supplied by CBS. However, with VeriFone Media screens having entertainment supplied by NBC, we won’t be too surprised if Curb taxi screens are eventually converted to carrying material from NBC.

Curb engages viewers with sight, sound and motion. Impressions are always 100% guaranteed. And advertising on Curb is Digital, measurable and unskipable.
