Digital Caddies, which entered into debt settlement agreements with major creditors in December, 2015 – resulting in Sprint acquiring a 19% equity – has apparently decided that the best way to monetize is by a local advertising program that provides new revenue opportunities for both the company and golf courses alike.

Through the use of new technologies, hardware and strategic partnerships, the company launched one of the first full featured, tablet based GPS systems for golfers and golf courses. It is now introducing a new program that will allow local advertisers to use the platform to promote their businesses.

After reviewing other media opportunities that local advertisers use and analyzing the market with established local advertising media companies, Digital Caddies management believes that the local ad market will generate profits significantly higher than other forms of advertising.

“We are excited about this new initiative, as the local ad market is a very lucrative opportunity for our company because it commands some of the best advertising rates in the industry,” says Brad Nightingale, CEO. “In addition, working with local advertisers will allow us to secure advertising contracts even before any system is installed, making it a seamless transition for any golf course to install. With thousands of tablets available in inventory, the local ad opportunity should generate millions of dollars in income without the need for additional investment in new systems.”

The program being introduced will also include the ability for golf courses to generate additional revenue by selling or referring new advertisers to the platform. This will provide golf courses with a new opportunity to generate thousands of dollars in profits, in addition to benefiting from the many features and services that they receive by installing the system at their facility.

Digital Caddies’ provides unique access to golfers via an interactive tablet mounted in golf cars, serving up features golfers, course operators and advertisers want. Once a golf course is equipped with Digital Caddies’ touch-screen tablets, golfers enjoy a variety of useful applications and services, including GPS-based course navigation and aerial fairway and green views with accurate yardages to landmarks. Digital Caddies’ tablets install easily on golf cars and connect wirelessly to the Web through Sprint’s nationwide wireless network, providing the golf course a broad portfolio of real-time course management tools via GPS-based cart tracking and communications.
