Epic Games Buys Cary Towne Center Mall

Is the coronavirus pandemic turning struggling malls into a new kind of real estate?

Epic Games, best known, one assumes for the popular video game Fortnite, has recently acquired the Cary Towne Center Mall in North Carolina for USD 95M.

It is understood that it will be converting it into its new global headquarters and plans to open what will be a new 980K-square-foot campus by 2024.

Reports indicate that the company is considering including space for use by the local community.

Note also that in West Los Angeles, California, the Westside Pavilion is currently undergoing a makeover into an office campus that will eventually be occupied by Google.
