Registration Closes For BAA Media Tender Process

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

Registration has closed for the BAA media tender process for the BAA Airports Aberdeen, Gatwick, Glasgow, Heathrow, Southampton and Stansted.

It’s not surprising that there was an excellent response from agencies and media specialists, especially with the opportunity to apply for one or more airports and/or Heathrow Express as combined or separate entities as well as multiple or individual mediums.

BAA tells us that it is working closely with applicants, who are now completing a questionnaire, so they can gain a greater understanding of their expertise and offering.

Since the termination of the existing ‘pan-airport’ advertising agreement with JCDecaux Airport, the new airport media tender has attracted significant interest from a broad range of suppliers keen to target the 144 million passengers that pass through BAA’s airports each year. As such, BAA is looking forward to offering an enhanced and more innovative level of media and sponsorship opportunities from 2010 onwards.

Successful suppliers will be chosen before the end December with the contract(s) officially starting from May 2010.
