Never.no Joins Forces With 1-2-1VIEW

never.no, one of the ten companies we suggested you watch in 2009 has Joined forces with Singapore-based 1-2-1VIEW to develop more Interactive Digital Signs.

never.nologoThe idea behind the partnership is to give advertisers a powerful tool for precisely targeting consumers, primarily to develop sophisticated digital signs with which viewers can interact in real time using their mobile phones – the ultimate aim being to yield “IP-based, flexible, viewer-friendly digital signage systems that provide advertisers useful demographic and geographic information about consumers”.

Alfred Chong, CEO of 1-2-1VIEW told us “This unprecedented and powerful platform will create an engaging experience for consumers while also satisfying a need in the digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising market.”

Mr Chong has a point but 1-2-1VIEW has no real marketshare in the DOOH space at the moment – what 1-2-1VIEW installs we tend to see are corporate, education and hospitality and so both companies have got their work cut out to market their new offering like mad and make it relevant to this new audience.

As a starter at least (and besides merging technologies to develop a new signage system) never.no and 1-2-1VIEW will actually become sales channel partners for one another’s technologies – at least according to the new partnership agreement that we saw.

Lars Lauritzsen, never.no CEO told us “Joining with 1-2-1VIEW will enhance our ability to market our technology in the fast-growing Asia DOOH market, besides giving us a complementary technology partner”

As we have discussed before never.no’s interactive video platform enables audience participation by modifying the video stream based on live, user-submitted content and it’s able to function with traditional TV, Web TV, IPTV, and mobile TV platforms. It’s a great system and one we like a lot. Let’s see what new business this joint venture brings.
