It only makes sense for Polycom to develop (or buy) a platform. Polycom is deeply entrenched in corporate communications.
Currently one of our partners is doing an interesting corporate communication install that marries the Polycom vid. conference system with digital signage. When vid. conference system is not in use, meeting rooms’ screens display corporate signage. With a flip of a switch, the source is changed to the Polycom system.
Potentially this announcement can make the signage add-on project obsolete (gobbled up in the all-Polycom system), save for some live data integration capabilities likely not found in the Polycom offering. Looking forward to seeing what Polycom has to bring to the table.
