#ScreenMediaExpo – Footfall / Traffic

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

I think everyone we spoke to at #ScreenMediaExpo yesterday and today has been thoroughly impressed with the event. Traffic has been high. We await the final figures but they will be well over 3,000 people we reckon.

Gooner speaks, man hides behind pole

The hall has been a buzz, the theatres well attended. I presented at 13:00 yesterday in Theatre 2 alongside Denys Lavigne, and halfway through the presentation when I was waiting to get a word in, I realised that looking at the audience apart from 4 or 5 of our ‘supporters’ I actually did NOT know any of them (that was 40 – 50 people) AND I pride myself on knowing everyone in the industry!!

That means only one thing; that those people were there to look and buy. They weren’t from the industry looking at the competition or simply networking.

We would bet a lot of money that show newbies such as Christie, Intel and Harris will be re-booking their stand space straightaway.

Every exhibitor without question told us they had genuine, good leads. There seemed to be a lot retailers looking for solutions, quite a few betting shops and even several rental / staging companies/ We also noticed Madame Tussauds as well as many of the outdoor guys, including the likes of Ocean Outdoor.

So far it has been a great event.
