Remote Media are nothing if not persistent, well known (and liked) for ‘punching above their weight’ this is the second time we have heard of them in major talks with US distributors – we have also got wind of some pretty exciting ‘branded fixtures’ of theirs which are going to end up in lots and lots of Macys real soon.
Anyway, sometime today we are expecting an announcement from either Remote Media or The Digital Signage Group that they have signed some form of agreement for the latter to sell and support Remote Media’s Signagelive SaaS Digital Signage solution in North America.
We are never sure of what to make of The Digital Signage Group (TDSG) – they describe themselves as a US based aggregator of products and services focused on digital signage – for a while they seemed to be uniquely independent, impartial and seemed to work in a consultancy capacity with the idea of best-of-class products and solutions. We thought that perhaps signing up as a reseller gives them options for revenue generation but meant that they lost their impartiality.
Not so says Jill Miller, President of TDSG who has reached out to us a few times in the past.
Jill told us “The Digital Signage Group is a master distributor so they carry a multitude of products that help integrators and resellers offer the best solution based on the scope of each project. When you are a master distributor each product you carry comes with a distribution agreement of some sort.
