Nice to see that six schools with The Life Channel’s in-school television network are among those shortlisted for the prestigious Times Educational Supplement (TES) Awards.

According to TES Editor, Gerard Kelly, the TES Awards are the first to celebrate and reward the professionalism and flair of teams making an outstanding contribution to primary and secondary schools in the maintained and independent sectors. After assessing hundreds of ‘extremely high standard’ entries, the judges have drawn up a shortlist.

The 15 award categories include: new facilities, innovation in teaching, leadership and community involvement; 82 schools nationwide were shortlisted.

Jane Wolfenden, Head Teacher at Lyndhurst Community Primary School and Children’s Centre in Cheshire told us “We believe The Life Channel has contributed towards our nomination for the TES Award for Outstanding New or Refurbished Primary School,”

Along with Lyndhurst, other schools with The Life Channel included on the shortlist are: St John Plessington Catholic College in Wirral – nominated in two categories for Secondary School of the Year and Outstanding Sustainable School of the Year; The Hermitage School in County Durham – nominated for Outstanding Community Involvement; Hawthorns Community School in Manchester – nominated in two categories for Outstanding Leadership Team and Outstanding New or Refurbished Primary School; Wright Robinson College in Manchester – nominated for Outstanding Sporting Initiative; Aldermoor Farm Primary School in Coventry – nominated for Outstanding New or Refurbished Primary School.
