Chris Pelekanou Steps Down From Clear Channel

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

Chris Pelekanou has announced that he will be leaving Clear Channel.

He announced via LinkedIn, the following “After seven wonderful years at Clear Channel I’ve decided to leave due to personal reasons. Clear Channel is an incredible company and I’m immensely proud of being a part of the huge success we have had over the past few years. It really has been the most rewarding, exciting and fun time. The people here are truly brilliant and I will miss them and the business immensely. I feel privileged to have met some truly wonderful and talented people over the 30 years in media and for that I will always be grateful”.

Chris and Richard Bon were a solid pair that stabilised Clear Channel UK during and after Matthew Dearden‘s departure. They dealt with some of Matthew’s weirder signings that came and went very swiftly (including the God botherer he enlisted) all at a time when they lost, arguably their biggest asset, the London street furniture contract to JCDecaux.

Chris leaves as Chief Customer Officer, Europe having previously been Chief Customer Officer and Commercial Director. He is a very calm and self assured individual and a loss to Clear Channel.

Previous to Clear Channel he had a long and distinguished career with Guardian News and Media.
