Digital Signage Needs A New Home

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

We said this last year (and it didn’t happen) but digital signage has outgrown it’s original home in Hall 12.

We now have bits of digital signage scattered all over the #iseurope. We thought Hall 10 (seemingly the major overspill area for Digital Signage) was a little disappointing with telepresence, video conference, digital signage and a few other things in there that gave it no ‘feeling’ or sense of purpose.

So, like last year, we’d vote for those in Hall 12 to move to Hall 10. It has to happen next year for sure. Absolutely must happen.

The poor souls I met in hall 12 on the first day. The DS corner in hall 10 was more crowded (but not better) then the really warm and cosy walk through hall 12. It’s always difficult to place all exhibitors in one area if you do not know how many of them will book. With the overall success and bigger stands in 2011 it is the next logical step to move all DS contenders to one area and give them a place to meet and talk.

But maybe ISE is the best place for AV integrators and AV technology suppliers in Europe and DS is just a small fraction of that.
