Look closely at the picture. Looks like a heavy duty Windows app on the player, and it choked on a playlist that is exclusively JPEGs. Next to no overhead to render the content, so choose between bad software, too much software and WinBloat.

Actually Mr Chamberlain, it’s just a bug. Not the fault of WinBloat (whatever the heck that is). See my Using Windows As A Signage Platform article for more details.
