This is slightly reminiscent of the Mercedes promotion from last year where they (Mercedes) attempted to use a mat of LEDs on a Mercedes vehicle to make it appear invisible.
In our humble opinion this is seriously way more cool and as our good friend Bob Rushby has been saying longer than anyone else we know, we are moving very quickly to a world where Pixels will truly be everywhere.
Mini teamed up with creative agency KKLD to cover one of its cars with 48,000 LED bands. People could submit posts from Twitter and Vine using the hashtag #MiniArtBeat or from Facebook using Mini’s app, which may then appear on the car.
The customised Mini Countryman (I have one myself BUT it’s not customised) is part of Mini’s Not Normal ad campaign and will continue to drive around London until August 19.
