Are You iBeacon Ready?

Neo tell us that it is now providing its clients with iBeacon implementation concepts in the food retailing, retail, gastronomy, tourism, real estate, automobile, and cultural institution sectors in Germany.

Sven Jacobi, Neo Germany Managing Director, explained how iBeacons work “Operating iBeacons requires only three main components: the iBeacon, the iBeacon management system, and the smartphone with the end-user app. iBeacons, which can be positioned anywhere, provide a low-energy Bluetooth signal, which triggers a message to consumers’ smartphones. The benefit here is that iBeacons—and this is different from QR codes—do not require that any consumer take any action. An iBeacon, including the management system and installation, are available for under €100.00. That makes an iBeacon installation very attractive from a costs standpoint and the return on investment will payoff quickly in all respects here.”

Neo’s food retailing experience shows that iBeacons cannot be effective in a vacuum, but only as part of a well-thought out overall concept.

Neo presently provides iBeacon concepts for directional signage systems, customer loyalty tools, marketing measures for extending ad campaigns, sales promotions (vouchers), and additional product information delivery.

All iBeacons make it possible to identify consumers or guests and to engage in direct and location-based communication with them.
