Rosanne Caron To Receive Industry Merit Award

The Advertising Club of Toronto’s Out of Home Day Committee has selected its third merit award recipient. Rosanne Caron will be honored for her contribution to the industry at the Out of Home Showdown on Thursday October 20, 2016.

rosnne-caronRosanne has served as President of OMAC (Out-of-Home Marketing Association of Canada) for 11 years and in 2015 took on the added role as President of COMB (Canadian Out-of-Home Measurement Bureau).

Rosanne has helped to advance the OOH industry through the development of measurement, marketing and education initiatives designed to increase acceptance and consideration of OOH advertising.

Under Rosanne’s leadership, COMB is exploring alternative measurement approaches to update and enhance the audience information currently provided to plan OOH campaigns.

In 2016 OMAC and COMB launched an OOH Certification Program targeted at media planners, marketers and schools. The new program provides participants with comprehensive knowledge of OOH by combining on-site training with interactive learning. Rosanne has led the industry’s government affairs efforts coordinating industry response and communications on regulatory and tax issues.

Rosanne’s business career spans a wide variety of media and senior roles. She began her advertising career with Mediacom where she held several positions before taking on the role of Vice President, Marketing and Research. Her research into “What Works in OOH” was published in the Journal of Advertising Research and presented internationally in the UK, Australia and the US.

The Advertising Club of Toronto presents the 2016 Out of Home Showdown, the 5th annual competition of out of home campaigns executed in Canada over the past year. Taking place at the stunning ARCADIAN COURT at 401 Bay St, 8th Floor (at Queen W) from 11:00 am to 3:00pm on October 20th, 2016. This year’s event has a ROCK & ROLL theme! Lunch will be provided by world famous Oliver & Bonacini. OOH Media providers will enter their best campaigns to compete for awards and the coveted SHOWDOWN Grand Prize. The categories of competitive entries will be judged in advance by a panel of industry leaders. All entries in each of the categories will be presented, and the winner of each will be announced on stage. Once each category winner is determined, we will crown the Grand Prize winner of THE SHOWDOWN!

Abby Worthington: Director, Head of Print & OOH Investment at Amplify has been confirmed as keynote speaker. In her current role for the Dentsu Aegis Network, Abby manages the OOH investment across all of Canada. Although this role is designed to consolidate investment and ensure high value across all of the Networks’ clients, it also allows for a top level review of key programs, ensuring consistency and first class work across the board.
