Was GlobalShop A ‘Dud’?

Unlike EuroShop which was a sure fire hit for the Digital Signage vendors who exhibited and all those in the industry and the retailers of course who attended, we have heard a couple of reports now that GlobalShop was a bit of a ‘dud’

One marketing manager in the industry told us that it was “very quiet and not much DS on the floor at all”

From the comments we picked up elsewhere it seems that location played a role – everyone loved to go to Las Vegas (where the show was held last year), but Chicago (particularly not in winter) was not so much an enticing locale.

The show being wedged against Easter didn’t help I guess and just a few folks we spoke to thought that the poor attendance might have reflected the sliding economy.
